ANCHORSEAL 2: The Premier End Grain Sealer for Protecting Logs, Lumber, and Wood Projects

ANCHORSEAL 2 is a hybrid formulation that combines wax with natural plant-based polymers, creating a high-performance, economical choice for sealing green wood and freshly cut lumber. This versatile end grain sealer protects against up to 90% of end checking and drying splits during the air-drying process for a wide range of hardwood, exotic hardwood decking, and softwood species.

Featuring a water-based, non-toxic formula with easy soap and water cleanup, ANCHORSEAL 2 is the preferred solution for the woodworking industry. It is widely used for sealing wood bowls, turning blanks, cookies, and live-edge wood slabs, as well as for protecting the ends of wood decks and steps, particularly for exotic hardwood species like ipe, Brazilian cherry, mahogany, teak, cumaru, and tigerwood.

Coverage: Approximately 100 sq. ft. per gallon, depending on application method and wood species.

Application: • Apply a heavy film of ANCHORSEAL 2 using a brush, roller, or sprayer until it begins to drip slightly. • For optimal coverage, use a gas engine, electric, air-operated, or backpack sprayer. • If using other spray equipment, use a 0.21"/0.55 mm tip or larger. • For logs larger than 24"/60 cm in diameter, apply a heavier coating or two coats within 15 minutes. • For deck board end cuts, apply ANCHORSEAL 2 carefully with a thin brush or sponge applicator to avoid potential staining on the face of the boards.
